Ammon News - An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck the province of Chlef, west of the Algerian capital, early Monday morning, according to the Algerian Center for Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics.
The center explained that the earthquake "occurred today at 09:01 local time (0090 GMT)," noting that the epicenter of the earthquake was three kilometers north of Zeboudja in the province of Chlef, west of the Algerian capital on the Mediterranean coast.
The Algerian Civil Defense Authority announced that no reports of any material or human losses were immediately received in the various municipalities of the province.
