Jordanian exports to Syria decline by 31% in 9 months

Ammon News - Jordanian exports to Syria fell by 31% in the first nine months of 2024, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS).

DoS's data showed that the value of Jordanian exports to Syria from the beginning of 2024 until the end of September amounted to about JD35.6 million, compared to JD52.3 million during the same period in 2023.

The value of Jordanian imports from Syria increased during the first nine months of 2024 by 23.5% to JD41.5 million, compared to JD33.6 million during the same period last year.

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yarub Qudah, expected to reopen exports to Syria early next week.

Exports from the Jaber-Naseeb crossing and the Jordanian-Syrian Free Zone are expected to begin soon, pending the readiness of the Syrian side, Qudah said.
