Ammon News - The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said that a special investigation committee in the Criminal Investigation Department followed up investigations into the disappearance of the Jordanian citizen Iyad Khaled Ali Samara and information that he was killed outside the Kingdom.
The media spokesperson added that through investigations and according to residency and border records, it turned out that the citizen Samara left Syria during April 2024, after which his relatives filed a report.
During the past few days, new information was received by the criminal investigation that indicated the existence of a link and suspicion of two people who have a business relationship with the disappeared citizen, he confirmed.
He continued that information about the two suspects was expanded and new evidence was found about their relationship with the citizen Samara and his disappearance and murder, and by interrogating them, they admitted that they had agreed and planned to kill him and that they had drawn up a plan to lure him outside the Kingdom and kill him there, and that when they arrived in Beirut, they put a toxic substance they had obtained in the deceased's food, and when they were sure he was dead, they left the body and took his personal belongings and his phone and threw them away and returned to the Kingdom after that.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Jordanian Embassy in Beirut, and the Lebanese police, who confirmed that the body of an unknown person was found on the same date on which contact was lost with citizen Samara near a beach, and procedures were taken as an unknown body.
The media spokesperson confirmed that the case and the two suspects were transferred to the Public Prosecutor for Major Crimes, who decided to arrest them in a reform and rehabilitation center on charges of premeditated murder and interference in murder, and decided to arrest a third person for knowing that they were planning the murder.
