Ammon News - Minister of Industry and Trade Yarub Qudah announced that exports to Syria are expected to resume early next week.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Wednesday, Qudah said that preparations are underway to facilitate the resumption of truck exports via the Jaber-Nassib border crossing and the Jordanian-Syrian joint free zone, contingent on the readiness of the Syrian side.
The minister emphasized that the decision applies solely to the export of goods through a delivery system involving the transfer of goods between trucks at the border. The reopening does not extend to passenger traffic.
Last Friday, the Minister of Interior ordered the closure of the Jaber-Nassib crossing due to security concerns in southern Syria. However, the directive excluded Jordanian nationals and Jordanian trucks, allowing their return to the Kingdom. Petra
