Ammon News - Jordan took part in the 102nd meeting of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.
Speaking during the meeting, Jordan's representative in the committee, Dr. Ala'a Zyoud, stressed the Kingdom's "pivotal" role in supporting joint Arab media cooperation and expanding its horizons.
Zyoud pointed to the Kingdom's proposed media initiatives, projects, strategies and plans that were welcomed by the Arab countries, especially in the fields of media, information education, digital diplomacy and negotiations with global media companies.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of pan-Arab media coordination, especially in light of the "growing pivotal" contribution of the media in serving Arab issues, delivering facts and defending rights.
This vision, he noted, requires advancement of the Arab media system to keep pace with rapid developments and contribute to serve Arab societies and protect their interests.
The committee went over the role of Arab media in serving the Palestinian cause, and addressing the phenomenon of terrorism, as well as the Arab Media Map for Sustainable Development 2030. Petra
