Huawei organized the Huawei Jordan Media Forum on December 5 in Amman, gathering senior leadership from Jordan's key media organizations to address digital transformation challenges and opportunities in the media sector and their transformative roadmap to digital intelligence leveraging advanced technologies in networks, cloud, AI, cyber security and ICT solutions.
The forum's initiatives align with Jordan's Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025) and National Digital Transformation Strategy & Implementation Plan (2021-2025), which emphasize enhancing digital infrastructure, developing digital skills, improving the regulatory landscape, and advancing e-government services.
During the forum's opening keynote, Ammar Tobba, VP of Public Affairs & Communications at Huawei Middle East & Central Asia (ME&CA), emphasized the importance of open collaboration between public and private sectors in strengthening Jordan's ICT ecosystem. He also highlighted the pressing need for media sector to catch up with the intelligent transformation, and the priority of nurturing local ICT talent and empowering the next generation of ICT leaders to support Jordan's knowledge-based, sustainable digital economy.
Mr. Adam Zhang, Huawei Jordan CEO said, "Driven by a young, tech-savvy population, high internet penetration, and government policies, Jordan's digital economy has grown rapidly in recent years. The digital transformation in Jordan has successfully integrated digital technologies, strategies, and innovations across various sectors of the country's economy and society. The forum's program featured a morning session of keynotes and presentations on the media industry's digital journey, attended by government officials, key opinion leaders, and ICT experts. The afternoon session included three interactive workshops led by Huawei regional and local experts, addressing priority development areas identified through pre-event survey findings of media business pain points. The workshops progressed from examining common challenges media organizations face to exploring development opportunities and concluded with creating a collaborative roadmap based on media organizations' priorities.
Mohammed Sarrif, Regional Director of Digital Industries, Strategy & Marketing Department presented the digital strategy for media organizations, with an introduction to the technologies and solutions for intelligent office campus transformation. Along with Huawei Jordan, local experts detailed the implementation of simplified office networks with optical and wireless capabilities, building automation for facility management and energy efficiency, and smart office solutions for efficient collaboration. Their presentation also covered intelligent security systems with AI-powered video management and integrated operations center capabilities.
During the forum, Huawei also showcased advanced technologies and tools for media organizations, including smart campus solutions, Wi-Fi networks, cloud solutions, automation, cybersecurity solutions, and IdeaHub, all seamlessly integrated with AI capabilities. Huawei experts presented specific solutions such as Object Storage Service (OBS), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Cloud Search Service (CSS), Media Processing Centre (MPC), and Video on Demand (VOD) services. The solutions illustrate Huawei's commitment to sustainability, featuring green data center technologies and energy-efficient infrastructure that can help media organizations reduce their carbon footprint while maintaining high performance. Huawei digital power solutions demonstrate how media organizations can achieve both operational excellence and environmental responsibility.
