2,387 electric vehicles completed clearance procedures since start of tax reduction

Ammon News - Colonel Rekad Al-Issa, director of the Free Zone Customs, reported that 2,387 electric vehicles have completed customs procedures since the 50% reduction in the special tax on these vehicles came into effect.

Al-Issa explained that 3,648 records were registered for processing customs procedures, highlighting the significant activity at the Zarqa customs area driven by the high demand from citizens and traders seeking to clear electric vehicles.

He confirmed to Al-Mamlaka TV the continuation of extending customs working hours, until the last transaction daily, after strengthening the cadres and preparing all the needs that meet the great demand, within the joint emergency plan with the concerned authorities with the aim of facilitating and accelerating the completion of customs transactions.

Earlier, the government announced a reduction in the special tax on electric vehicles. For vehicles with a customs value between JD10,000 and JD25,000, the tax was reduced from 40% to 20%. For vehicles valued above 25,000 dinars, the tax was lowered from 55% to 27.5%.
