Ammon News - The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said Sunday that the month of November saw inconsistent rainfall across the Kingdom.

While some regions in the north and the Central Jordan Valley experienced "good" rainfall in seasonal average terms, most areas recorded weaker amounts, said JMD Director Raed Khattab.

The Deir Alla station in the central Jordan Valley registered the highest monthly rainfall of 58.2 mm, about 20% of the seasonal average, followed by Ras Munif at 34.6 mm (6% of seasonal average). However, central and southern regions fared worse, with Salt recording 21.0 mm (4%) and Rabbah 17.0 mm (5%).

November weather, Khattab noted, witnessed atmospheric instability in the first third of the month, and a cold, humid low-pressure system in the last third, resulting in 11 rainy days. Typically, November rain contribute approximately 9% of the seasonal rainfall average, he pointed out.

Temperature-wise, Amman saw average maximum temperatures of 20.3 C, aligning with historical averages. Minimum temperature rose slightly, averaging 10.8 C, a 0.7 C increase over the norm. The coldest night in Amman hit 3.6 C on November 27, and the warmest day peaked at 25.0 C on November 2.

Nationwide extremes included the highest maximum temperature of 33.4 C in the Jordan Valley region of Ghor Es-Safi on November 2 and the lowest minimum temperature of -3.9 C was recorded in Shobak on November 27. Petra
