Ammon News - The Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, approved the 2025 draft general budget law for, in preparation for referring it to the Lower House in the coming days and within the time frame specified by the Jordanian Constitution.
The draft law estimated total public expenditures at JD12,511 million, including current expenditures of about JD11,042 million, and capital expenditures of about JD1,469 million, an increase of 16.5% over its re-estimated level for the year 2024; This is to cover the financing of major projects, the construction of new hospitals and schools, and the maintenance of existing hospitals and schools.
The the 2025 draft general budget law also reduces the primary deficit for 2025 to 2% of GDP, compared to 2.9% in 2024.
