Ammon News - The third quarter progress report on the implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision 2023-2025 indicated that construction of a beach refrigeration unit will commence as part of the Sheikh Sabah Port development project in the last quarter of this year.
The report released by the Government Performance Follow-up Unit at the Prime Ministry indicated that the activities related to the memoranda of understanding with green hydrogen project developers are under review, and data concerning lands and locations within the Aqaba Special Economic Zone and transmission lines is being compiled.
It showed that a land use agreement has been signed for the production project of green hydrogen and green ammonia and is now in the negotiation stage of the investment agreement.
A land use agreement was executed between the Jordan Green Ammonia Company and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority for utilizing a 10,000-dunum parcel for renewable energy, as well as with the Aqaba Development Company for a 320-dunum area designated for the factory.
The report suggested the establishment of a system to manage the integration of renewable energy facilities into the electrical grid, exempt renewable energy systems, optimize energy consumption, and advance the approval process in line with regulations.
The report states that a bid was presented to rent a floating LNG vessel in the Gulf of Aqaba for a duration of 10 years, concluding with the transfer of ownership.
A proposal was also presented to rent a floating LNG vessel in the Gulf of Aqaba for 10 years, with the lease concluding with ownership, and to advance the Sarhan field by proposing a tender to drill two wells, the initial section, to a depth of 500 m.
