This occurred at the symposium hosted by TRENDS Research & Advisory Center with the Institute of History and Documents of the Communist Party of China and the House of Wisdom Cultural Group on "The Future of Collaboration between Chinese and Arab Think Tanks in the New Era" in Abu Dhabi, to enhance research collaborations and strategic partnerships between China and Arab nations.
The high-ranking Chinese delegation, led by His Excellency Sun Dongsheng and Chinese Ambassador to the UAE Zhang E-ming, along with several researchers and experts from both sides, participated in the symposium.
Collaborative Research Efforts
During his introduction, CEO of TRENDS Research & Advisory, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, highlighted the center's pleasure in organizing the event. It aims to improve collaboration between Chinese and Arab think tanks, share ideas for mutual growth, and strengthen societal stability.

He highlighted TRENDS' accomplishment in hosting the "First TRENDS BRICS Think Tank Summit" in Moscow, which focused on the importance of research and media organizations in shaping policies and strengthening the soft power of BRICS nations.
Dr. Mohammed Al Ali emphasized the significant value TRENDS places on strengthening collaboration with Chinese institutions, through joint research initiatives with the Chinese Embassy in the UAE and China Media Group, participation in the "Beijing International Book Fair 2024", and the establishment of a virtual office in China to promote research and intellectual partnership. He emphasized the urgent need for think tanks to collaborate due to the rising global challenges, as these institutions can help develop holistic approaches by sharing ideas and perspectives.
