Ammon News - Yazan Al-Naimat and Musa Al-Taamari, key players of the national football team, are set to attend the Asian Continent's Best Awards at the Grand Peace Palace in Seoul, Korea, on Tuesday.

Al-Naimat was selected to contend for two honors, one as the top player in the continent, and the other as the top professional player not in Asia.

The two Jordanian stars were chosen for their outstanding performance with the national team, including their success in the recent Asian Cup in Qatar where the team finished second, as well as their impressive performance in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The selection of two Jordanian soccer players for AFC awards exemplifies the significant progress in Jordanian football, as they strive to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

The event will take place with the attendance of Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, who is the President of the Asian Football Confederation, the First Vice President of the International Federation of Association Football, and Gianni Infantino, who is the President of the International Federation of Association Football, along with other prominent football figures in Asia.


At the event, a total of 21 awards will be handed out, one of which is the newly established Best Female Professional Player Outside the Continent Award. This year, the Asian Cup Host Country Appreciation Award and the AFC President's Appreciation Award for Outstanding Contribution will be presented for the first time, along with Gianni Infantino being honored with the "Diamond of Asia" award for his exceptional support of Asian football.

The AFC President was pleased to hold the continental federation's annual awards ceremony in Seoul, South Korea, highlighting the excellent facilities provided by the country to showcase Asian football in a positive light, demonstrating South Korea's prominent position in the football world.

As per the AFC news report, Sheikh Salman mentioned that the AFC Annual Awards Ceremony is a significant event to recognize and honor the successful individuals from the Asian football community after a season of hard work and dedication by the members in different areas.

He stated that in 2023, there were many important football events, with the most notable being the 18th Asian Cup Finals held in Qatar, which was a significant moment in Asian football history.
