Al-Bakkar: We create opportunities for employment in Germany

26-10-2024 11:52 AM

Ammon News - Minister of Labor Dr. Khaled Al-Bakkar stated that the agreement endorsed by the Council of Ministers last week on the Jordanian-German Center aims to support the movement of Jordanian workers to Germany in line with the royal initiatives with friendly countries.

He emphasized that the center helps Jordanian workers with the necessary qualifications and training to access the German labor market by offering them information, guidance, and training in required specializations.

He highlighted the government's interest in collaborating with the German government to improve vocational training in Jordan and to help Jordanians find employment opportunities in Germany.

He stated that approximately 200 Jordanians have shown interest in and are benefiting from the Partnership for Development project, which focuses on vocational training, labor migration, and advisory services offered by the center since it opened in late last year.

He stated that the center offers services such as giving advice and information on the German job market to make it easier to find job opportunities, explaining the process for accrediting and equivalent certificates, visa application procedures, and required German language proficiency levels.

The Minister mentioned that the goal of the Partnership for Development project, focusing on vocational training and labor migration (PAM), is to educate Jordanian youth through the dual vocational training program in Germany. This program involves theoretical learning at vocational education institutes, as well as practical experience with private sector companies in the crafts sector. Participants must meet German language proficiency and visa requirements.

He described how the project focuses on three essential job sectors in the labor market: renewable energy in electricity, maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles, and the bakery industry in food production, increasing opportunities for employment in the crafts field in Germany.

He highlighted that Jordanian young people are getting valuable hands-on training in the German dual vocational training system, specifically in the German crafts industry, with 6 Jordanians currently participating in the program in Germany. Their training will span three and a half years, and the project aims to train a total of 300 Jordanians.

He mentioned that 140 Jordanians are receiving specific training in German language at vocational institutes in Jordan. Those who pass the necessary exams will be able to visit Germany in the beginning of next year.

He highlighted that the Jordanian-German center project and the development project for vocational training and labor migration, are initiatives carried out by German international cooperation with the backing of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, in collaboration with Jordan's Ministry of Labor and the Vocational Training Corporation.
