Ammon News - French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated on Thursday that the international conference on Lebanon in Paris collected over $800 million for humanitarian aid and $200 million for army support.
Barrot stated that we answered the United Nations' call by declaring essential donations amounting to $800 million, alongside important non-monetary donations, emphasizing that the global community was prepared for the task.
Around 70 government delegations along with 15 international organizations convened in Paris to raise a minimum of 500 million euros in humanitarian aid and advocate for a ceasefire.
The United Nations agency initiated a request on October 1 to collect funds to offer immediate assistance to hundreds of thousands of individuals who were forced to flee due to Israeli attacks on various Lebanese areas.
Barrot assured RTL radio on Wednesday that Paris supports Lebanon and "will stand by its side."
He elaborated that the objective is to reiterate the importance of a truce, achieve a diplomatic resolution, stop fighting, gather aid from numerous countries, and assist Lebanese institutions, particularly the Lebanese military.
