Ammon News - The Public Security Directorate (PSD) issued a winter awareness media campaign (Safe Winter) in order to enhance the traffic environment and decrease violations and risky behaviors that threatens the safety of citizens on the roads.

Brigadier General Firas Al-Rasheed, the Director of the Traffic Department, told Amen FM that in line with the Crown Prince's directives, the Public Security Directorate initiated the awareness campaign prior to its official launch to promote a traffic safety culture.

He stated that this initiative, in collaboration with the security media, is intended to raise awareness about the dangers of neglecting basic vehicle safety precautions before the winter season. It is being launched a week ahead of the on-ground campaign to remind individuals of the actions necessary to ensure their security and well-being.

Al-Rashid stated that the Safe Winter campaign will start in November until December. Traffic departments will oversee a physical check by security experts, using specific equipment for preventive vehicle maintenance. Citizens will be notified a week prior to schedule their required maintenance. If the wipers are found to be not working during inspection, a message will be posted on the traffic system indicating that the checked car requires wiper maintenance.

If no maintenance is required for the car, a special sticker will be fixed on the window so the vehicle won't be pulled over again. Those who require maintenance will receive a logo to alter before the notice is removed from them. If the situation is not rectified within a week, actions will be taken.
