Ammon News - The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply announced on Tuesday that Jordan's stock of wheat and barley is sufficient and will last for 9 to 10 months.
The Ministry's spokesperson, Yanal Barmawi, said that the wheat stock is sufficient for 10 months, with quantities reaching 894 thousand tons, in addition to 700 thousand tons of barley, which is sufficient for the Kingdom for 9 months.
Jamal Amro, representative of the food sector in the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, said that the food stocks of traders are good, such as sugar, rice, and oils.
Regarding oils (sunflower, soybean, and corn), Amro pointed out that the rise in global oil prices has led some traders to fear buying and importing oils at the present time, especially since the purchasing power of oils is currently somewhat weak.
