Army thwarts drug smuggling attempt using two drones

Ammon News - The Southern Military Zone on Monday thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics loaded by two drones, according to a responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF).

The source added that the Border Guards in the Southern Military Region, in coordination with the military security services and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted a smuggling attempt using two drones that tried to cross the border illegally.

The rules of engagement were applied and the drones' payloads were dropped inside Jordanian territory, the source said, indicating that the seized items were transferred to the competent authorities.

The source confirmed that the JAF are continuing to harness their various capabilities and potentials, and to prevent these narcotic substances from reaching the citizens of the country and affecting national security.
