Ammon News - A poll conducted by the Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Jordan on the government of Dr. Jaafar Hassan showed that 50% of Jordanians in the national sample trusts the government of Dr. Jaafar Hassan and are optimistic about the new cabinet, and 48% of opinion leaders and experts trust the government of Dr. Jaafar Hassan and 43% of them are optimistic about the new cabinet.

According to the results of the poll, which reviewed by Ammon, 47% members of the national sample and 40% members of the opinion leaders and experts’ sample are optimistic about the ability of Dr. Jafar Hassan's government to implement: Political Reforms, Economic Modernization Vision and Public Sector Reform Plan.

The poll also showed that 47% of the national sample and 41% of the opinion leaders' sample believe that the government of Dr. Jafar Hassan will be able to manage regional issues.

46% of the national sample and 38% of opinion leaders and experts are optimistic about the Jordanian economy under the government of Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the poll indicated.

Government: Ability to take on the responsibilities of the coming period - National Sample
The results showed that (54%) of the national sample believe that the government of Dr. Jaafar Hassan will be able to handle the responsibilities and the challenges of the coming period.

57% of the national sample reported that the prime minister will be able to handle the responsibilities of the coming period.

50% of the national sample reported that the government (excluding the prime minister) will be able to handle the responsibilities of the coming period.

Government: Ability to take on the responsibilities of the coming period – Leaders and Experts sample
The results of the survey showed that (52%) of the opinion leaders and experts respondents believe that the government will be able to handle the responsibilities of the coming period.

55% of the sample of experts and opinion leaders believe that the prime minister will be able to handle the responsibilities of the coming period.

45% of the sample of experts and opinion leaders believe that the government (excluding the prime minister), will be able to handle the responsibilities of the coming period.

Jordanians' priorities:
Improving the economic and living conditions of Jordanians are the priorities that the new government should focus on, as (66%) of the national sample and (55%) of opinion leaders and experts said that the government should focus on improving the economic and living conditions of citizens, reduce poverty and address the issue of unemployment.

Trust in public institutions
The results show that trust in the army and security institutions continues to increase, with the vast majority of Jordanians reporting confidence in the army, gendarmerie, public security, civil defense, and the General Intelligence Service (97%).

There is a noticeable increase in trust in Jordanian official institutions, as trust in the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission has increased (from 40% in the March 2021 survey to 73% in this survey). Trust in the Jordanian judiciary has increased (from 59% in the March 2021 survey to 72% in this survey).

Trust in the Jordanian parliament and Jordanian political parties also has increased, with 35% of Jordanians reporting that they trust the parliament compared to 20% in the March 2021 survey, and trust in Jordanian political parties increased to 32% compared to 15% in the March 2021 survey.

Parliamentarian Elections, September 2024
Elections are fair and transparent:
The vast majority of Jordanians (73%) who participated in the recent parliamentarian elections believe that the parliamentarian elections that took place on (10/9/2024) were fair and transparent.

Satisfaction with the results of the recent parliamentarian elections:
The vast majority of Jordanians (71% of respondents in the national sample and 66% of respondents in the opinion leader sample) are satisfied with the results of the recent parliamentarian elections.

Expected results
The majority of Jordanians (61% of the national sample and 67% of the opinion leaders' sample) were not surprised by the results of the recent parliamentarian elections and stated that they were expected.
 
The success of political parties:
The vast majority (65%) of the national sample believe that political parties succeeded in the recent elections, and (46%) of opinion leaders and experts believe that political parties succeeded in this recent election (Sep 2024).

(38%) of the national sample and (46%) of opinion leaders and experts believe that the recent elected parliament will perform better than the previous one.

(46%) of the national sample and (40%) of opinion leaders and experts believe that the recent elected parliament will be no different from the previous one.

More than one third of the national sample (38%) believe that the relationship between the new parliament and the new government will be cooperative/participatory. One-fifth of the national sample (21%) believe it will be contentious (disagreement on some issues and agreement on others).
