Ammon News - Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, confirmed that the agricultural sector's continued leadership of growth in the second quarter is a results of the translation of the Economic Modernisation Vision and the National
Plan for Sustainable Agriculture, which, via its implementation, has affected its overlap with sectors via production inputs, reducing imports and increasing exports.

Hneifat noted that the agricultural sector contributed to saving up to JD800 million between reducing imports of vegetables and fruits and increasing agricultural exports, in addition to livestock exports that exceeded 260%.

The quarterly report of the Department of Statistics (DoS) indicated that initial estimates showed that most economic sectors achieved growth during the second quarter of 2024 compared to the second quarter of 2023.

The agricultural sector achieved the highest growth rate during this period, amounting to 6.2 percent , contributing 0.24 percentage points to the achieved growth rate, according to the report.
