Number of visitors to Petra declines by 65% in 7 months

Ammon News - Data and figures from the Petra Development Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA), showed a 65% decline in the number of visitors to Petra during the first 7 months of the year 2024, compared to the same period last year 2023.

The number of visitors to Petra reached 267,220 tourists during the first 7 months of this year, compared to 770,808 tourists for the same period last year 2023, according to Al-Mamlaka.

The latest figures from the Ministry of Tourism, which were previously published, showed a 7.2% decline in the number of tourists coming to Jordan during the first seven months of 2024, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

3.442 million tourists visited Jordan during the first seven months of this year, compared to 3.720 million tourists during the same period in 2023, the data indicated.

The number of overnight tourists coming to Jordan decreased by 4.7% during the first seven months of this year, reaching 2.938 million tourists.
