Ammon News - The number of checks in circulation in Jordan during the first seven months of 2024 amounted to 3.71 million checks, with a value of JD22.9 billion Jordanian.
Statistics reveled that the number of bounced checks in Jordan decreased by 1.8% during July, compared to June, as it reached 19.2 thousand checks in July, compared to 19.5 thousand checks in June.
The value of returned checks for the month of July of this year amounted to JD142 million, compared to JD117 million in June of the same year, an increase of 22%.
12,800 bounced checks worth JD107 million in July were for financial reasons, while more than 6,000 checks worth JD35 million were for technical reasons, with the percentage of bounced checks for financial reasons reaching 66.8% compared to 33.2% for technical reasons, the statistics added.
In July, the number of checks in circulation in Jordan reached 569 thousand checks, compared to 516 thousand checks in the previous June, an increase of 9.6%.
The value of cheques in circulation during the month of July amounted to JD3.6 billion, compared to JD2.9 billion in June of the same year, an increase of 25.6%.
