Ammon News - Dani Olmo's release clause at RB Leipzig was not triggered by the deadline and he will remain at the Bundesliga side for the time being, widespread media reports said on Sunday.

Olmo, who shone for Spain as they won Euro 2024, had a exit clause of €60 million ($65 million) which had to be triggered by Saturday.

Several big clubs have been linked in the media with the 26-year-old, including Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

But it appears no club has been willing to pay the fixed price. Leipzig did not comment.

Olmo's journey to Spain regular has been unusual. He left Barcelona's youth ranks to join Dinamo Zagreb before signing for Leipzig in 2020.

He has hinted he would welcome a move, although injuries last term may have played a part in clubs not triggering the exit clause.
