Ammon News - Investor Bassam Gharawi has commenced his first production operations in Madaba Industrial City, with an initial export volume of JD1.5 million, projected to increase to JD20 million. This project will create 150 job opportunities for residents of Madaba in various fields.

The favorable investment environment and incentives offered by Jordanian industrial cities have prompted the Lebanese investor to establish a confectionery manufacturing project in Madaba Industrial City. The factory, occupying an area of approximately 20 dunums and built over three floors with modern engineering methods, aims to maintain high product quality for exports to global markets, particularly the Arab Gulf countries, the United States, Brazil, and Australia. Constructed at JD15 million, the factory features designated areas for production, packaging, shipping, and employee facilities, ensuring an integrated work environment.

Gharawi emphasized his commitment to modernization and development by establishing a development and training unit to enhance employee expertise. His company combines Jordanian and Lebanese management, with plans to advance workers’ skills and professional growth.

Gharawi said he chose Jordan for its geographic location, political and security stability, and the advantages granted to industrial investments, highlighting that the project aims to reach full production capacity, ultimately providing about 1,000 job opportunities for the local community.
Omar Juwayed, Director General of the Jordan Industrial Estates Company, which is responsible for managing Madaba Industrial City, said that Arab investments in Jordanian industrial estates are success stories, benefiting from Jordan’s attractive investment climate. This investment adds significant value through Lebanese expertise, enhancing the potential to reach international markets as a Lebanese-Jordanian product, he added.

He urged Lebanese, Arab, and foreign investors to take advantage of the opportunities in Jordanian industrial estates to achieve an integrated Arab industry.

Juwayed noted that Madaba Industrial City hosts 34 industrial companies with an investment volume of approximately JD22 million, providing around 1,400 job opportunities in its initial operational phases.

The first phase of Madaba Industrial City spans 250 dunams and is conveniently located 13 kilometers from the city center and 40 kilometers from Amman. Its proximity to Queen Alia International Airport and the desert road connecting southern and northern Jordan enhances its strategic value.

The Jordan Industrial Estates Company has begun constructing new industrial buildings in the third phase of development, covering an area of 11,000 square meters, following the full occupancy of the initial 18,000 square meters of industrial space. Petra
