Ammon News - AMMAN –– The Public Security Department (PSD) on Wednesday said one lane of the Amman-Dead Sea highway will be closed to traffic at 7:00am on Friday for the Dead Sea Ultra Marathon.

The PSD media office told The Jordan Times that traffic heading from the Ahli Club towards Amman will be directed to the Sweifieh bridge and the 8th Circle, while the road between the 7th Circle and Marj Hamam will be partially closed until the runners pass.

Cars heading to the King Hussein Bridge and Mount Nebo will be diverted to an alternative road, according to the PSD, which said traffic signs will be posted to inform motorists about detours and closed roads. Around 6,000 local, regional and international runners are scheduled to take part in the 17th Dead Sea Ultra Marathon on Friday.
