Ammon News - Football fans in Jordan are awaiting the draw for the third and decisive round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which will take place Thursday, at 10:00 am at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
The Jordanian National Football team participates in the draw, hoping to reach the 2026 World Cup for the first time in its history, as the team is represented in the draw by the team’s managing director, Mohamed Manko.
According to the qualifying system, the teams are divided into 3 groups, each group includes 6 teams, and the first two teams in each group qualify directly to the 2026 World Cup, while the 3rd and 4th-placed teams from each group enter the 4th round of the qualifiers.
The 18 teams were classified into 6 levels: (first: Japan, Iran, Republic of Korea), (second: Australia, Qatar, Iraq), (third: Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Jordan), (fourth: UAE, Oman, Bahrain), (fifth: China, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan), (sixth: Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Kuwait.)
