Ammon News - Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities confirmed that the rate of cancellation of reservations for tourist groups arriving in Jordan during October 2023 to January 2024 reached 90%, based on the numbers of incoming tourism offices.
The ministry said in its quarterly report that inbound tourism offices expect the rate of cancellation of reservations for incoming tourists from February to June 2024 to reach about 93%.
The latest data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) indicate that tourism income during the first five months amounted to JD1.9 billion ($2.6 billion), a decrease of 6.5%, compared to the same period in 2023.
This decrease is due to a 10% decline in tourist numbers, according to the data.
