Ammon News - Director General of the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) Raed Khattab, revealed that a very hot dry wave will begin to affect the Kingdom, starting Thursday, and extending until next week (Eid al-Adha week).

Khattab told Ammon that the heat wave is the result of the rush of a hot, dry air mass coming across the Arabian Peninsula, where the weather will be hot over the mountain highlands and plains, and very hot in the rest of the regions, especially in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and the Gulf of Aqaba.

He explained that the maximum temperatures will be higher than their general average for this time of the year by about (8-9) degrees Celsius and may exceed 45 degrees Celsius in some areas such as the Jordan Valley, the Badia, and Aqaba during the days of Eid, and may touch 40 degrees Celsius in the eastern Amman regions and 35-37 degrees Celsius in the regions west and north of the capital, Amman.
