Ammon News - Jordan Post Company (JPC) issued a set of commemorative stamps on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah II assumption of his constitutional powers, "Silver Jubilee."
According to a JPC statement Saturday, its chairman, Sami Daoud, said the Kingdom's entire stamp collections, which were issued on many national occasions, detail the journey of the Jordanian state and its key milestones in various political, economic, social and other aspects.
Daoud noted the new series will join Jordan's Stamp Museum to document an aspect of His Majesty King Abdullah II's reign, during which Jordan witnessed a major transition in major economic, social and cultural fields.
Daoud added that JPC issued a series of stamps during the past 25 years on several occasions, primarily the centennials of the Jordanian state and Great Arab Revolt, the 10th anniversary of His Majesty's ascension to the Throne, wedding of HRH Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, and other national occasions.
The issue will be released and made available to stamp collectors next Monday at JPC head quarters in Amman's Muqabalin neighborhood and post offices, the statement said. Petra
