Ammon News - The Syrian Presidency announced Tuesday that The First Lady of Syria Asma al-Assad has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

The Presidency said in a statement that The First Lady will adhere to a specialised treatment protocol that includes stringent infection prevention measures and appropriate social distancing.

"The First Lady will temporarily withdraw from all direct engagements as part of her treatment plan. Throughout this phase, she remains determined and committed, supported by her strong will and faith in God," the Presidency added in the statement.
