Ammon News - As part of promoting mutual tourism between Jordan and Mexico, the Mexican Embassy in Jordan held on Wednesday a dialogue and information session about the tourism sector in Mexico, its most prominent tourist areas, and tourism investment opportunities. The event took place in the presence of representatives and staff members belonging to the tourism and travel sectors, airline companies, as well as a group of media figures and journalists.

The encounter was launched by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy, Armando Vivanco Castellanos, who welcomed the audience and said that the Mexican Republic is rich in many ancient tourist sites throughout the geography of Mexico and has vast opportunities for investment in the tourism industry, which may further enhance its position on the global tourism map and attract more tourists.

During the session, several videos were screened picturing the diverse and distinct features that characterize Mexico as a tourist destination with multiple facets, especially romantic, therapeutic, and recreational.

In turn, the Consular Section reviewed the requirements and conditions for obtaining a tourist visa and answered to the attendees’ inquiries.

It is worth mentioning that a delegation from the tourism sector visited Mexico at the end of last year, during which it met with the Mexican Minister of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marques, to explore means of enhancing bilateral cooperation and tourism exchange between the two countries. Additionally, it was noted that a similar visit from the Mexican side is expected to visit Jordan this year, with the aim of collaborating with local travel companies to support tourism products and opportunities between Jordan and Mexico.
