The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) confirmed Tuesday that the continued interruption of the entry of aid and fuel supplies at the Rafah Crossing will halt the critical humanitarian response across the Gaza Strip.
In a post on X, UNRWA said: "The catastrophic hunger faced by people especially in northern Gaza will get much worse if these supply routes are interrupted."
The Israeli occupation forces continue their comprehensive bombardment of areas east of the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, amid fears of a looming ground invasion of the densely populated province.
The city currently serves as the last refuge for hundreds of thousands of displaced people in the besieged enclave.
Today, Rafah, with its narrow estimated area of about 65 square kilometers, accommodates more than 1.5 million Palestinians, the majority of whom have been forced to flee during the initial phases of the Israeli aggression seeking safety.
