Ammon News - Director of Radio Spectrum Management Directorate at the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC), Nedal Samara, revealed on Thursday that the malfunction of the GPS system in Jordan will continue as long as military threats, aircraft movement, and drones continue.
Samara told Ammon that malfunctions and problems are spreading across the Mediterranean Basin region, as a result of the Israeli process of jamming it to avoid military strikes in the region and changing flight coordinates.
The TRC informed the Israeli side of the malfunction and problem by submitting examples, which responded that it was working to fix it, Samara stated, pointing out that the telecommunications sector is governed by international agreements affiliated with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Jordan is considered one of the least affected countries in the Mediterranean basin, as Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and others were affected by the Israeli interference, Samara pointed.
He stressed that the problem will continue as long as air threats remain in the region and will escalate if the movement of drones continues in the air.
