Ammon News - The weather forecast for Monday indicated pleasant conditions in most areas of the Kingdom, with warm temperatures expected in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds at various altitudes.

As the afternoon progresses, the country is anticipated to experience increasing atmospheric instability. Irregular showers of rain are expected in parts of the northern and central regions, with potential heavy rainfall during the late hours of the night, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail at times.

The precipitation is predicted to extend to parts of the eastern regions overnight, while moderate southwesterly winds will prevail, occasionally becoming active.

Cautionary statements from the Jordan Meteorological Department urged vigilance on slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall. Additionally, there is a possibility of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog in the morning over the high northern highlands and decreased visibility caused by dust in the desert regions.

The impact of weather instability is set to intensify on Tuesday, resulting in slightly lower temperatures. The weather will range from partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with intermittent rain across most regions.

Some areas may experience heavy downpours accompanied by thunder and hail, posing a risk of floods in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Dead Sea and Aqaba. The winds will be active, shifting from southwesterly to westerly, with occasional strong gusts exceeding 50 km/hour, causing dust disturbances, particularly in desert areas.

Wednesday will witness a further drop in mercury levels, bringing relatively cold conditions to most areas, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will remain relatively warm. The weather will be partly cloudy to generally cloudy, with intermittent rain across most regions.

Heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail, may occur in the western regions, leading to the formation of torrents in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Dead Sea region. Brisk westerly winds with strong gusts will prevail.

On Thursday, temperatures will rise slightly, resulting in pleasant weather in most areas, with warmth prevailing in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Some clouds will appear at low altitudes, accompanied by moderate northwesterly winds that may become active intermittently.

Today's maximum and minimum temperatures are as follows: eastern Amman 21 - 10C, western Amman 19 - 8C, northern highlands 17 - 7C, Sharah highlands 18 - 6C, and Gulf of Aqaba 31 – 17C. Petra
