Occupation says flying object from east hits building in Eilat

01-04-2024 09:43 AM

Ammon News - The Israeli occupation army said that an aerial threat launched from east of Israel struck a building in its Red Sea port of Eilat on Monday morning but did not cause casualties, according to Reuters.

Eilat has come under repeated missile and drone attack by Houthi rebels in Yemen during the almost six-month-old war against Gaza.

The occupation army statement indicated that an attack that occurred on last Tuesday came from the direction of Iraq, where there are other armed factions allied with Iran.

The statement did not specify what had been launched against Eilat. It said the launch set off sirens but was not intercepted by Israeli air defences.

For its part, the Hebrew newspaper Ynet revealed that there was minor damage to the building and no one was injured.

Ynet also said that an alarm was sounded tonight for the first time in three weeks.
