Ammon News - Belgium sent a military plane loaded with military aid to drop it from the air on the Gaza Strip, as part of an international operation involving Jordan, the United States, and France, Belgian officials announced.
Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadja Lahbib told Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, in a phone call, that he country is planning a humanitarian airdrop with food and essential goods together with Jordan and that the humanitarian access to Gaza is insufficient.
Lahbib wrote in a post on her official X account: "Together with Jordan, we're planning a humanitarian airdrop with food and essential goods. An immediate ceasefire is necessary."
The humanitarian aid will be transported in the first stage to Jordan before it is dropped over the Palestinian Strip next Wednesday at the earliest, according to what Colonel Bruno Beckmans, commander of the Belgian base of Melsbrück, from which the plane took off, said.
The Belgian military plane, an Airbus A400M, will make another flight between Brussels and Jordan to transport more aid before the airdrop in Gaza, according to the Belgian authorities.
It is noteworthy that the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, have carried out 25 Jordanian airdrops since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, in addition to participating in and facilitating the mission of 10 airdrops for brotherly and friendly countries.
