Ammon News - The Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP) successfully concluded its impactful initiative, the "Awareness is Power" project, aimed at fostering awareness within the local community about prevalent forms of women's cancer worldwide. The project was implemented under the framework of the “REAYAH” Project funded by the European Union Trust Fund for the Syria crises through the Spanish Cooperation.

Throughout the project's duration, the JBCP effectively reached 67,000 Jordanians and Syrian refugees across three governorates: Tafileh, Ajloun, and Mafraq. Leveraging the active involvement of local community leaders, the initiative trained and empowered women in the health sector and cultivated a cadre of trainers. These individuals, in turn, reached thousands of women, imparting crucial knowledge on the significance of early breast cancer detection and preventive measures.

In terms of public outreach, the project achieved remarkable success by reaching over two million people across diverse regions of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Jordanian and Syrian youth played a pivotal role in implementing innovative activities that aligned with the project's objectives. Additionally, the initiative resulted in three research studies focused on topics directly related to breast cancer and prevention.

This undertaking aligns seamlessly with the JBCP’s overarching mission to combat breast cancer. It reflects the program's unwavering commitment to raising awareness and addressing any impediments that might hinder women from undergoing early detection examinations.
