Ammon News - The Prime Minister has said he is thankful the King’s cancer had been caught early as he insisted they are remaining in “regular contact”.
The King, 75, has just begun treatment for cancer after his diagnosis during a recent corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Rishi Sunak said: “All our thoughts are with him and his family. Thankfully, this has been caught early.”
The King has not revealed what type of cancer he has, other than confirming it is not prostate cancer, but he has pledged to continue his weekly audiences with Mr Sunak while he takes time away from his public engagements to minimise the risk to his health.
Mr Sunak said that everyone will be hoping the King “gets the treatment that he needs and makes a full recovery”.
“That’s what we’re all hoping and praying for, and I’m of course in regular contact with him and will continue to communicate with him as normal,” he added.
