Ammon News -

Ammon News- Ahmad Alhyari-The total amount of oil exported from Iraq to Jordan in January 2024 reached to 464,306 thousand barrels, according to data from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.

The quantities of Iraqi crude oil discharged from the site of the modern Kirkuk depot in Iraq, into the tanks of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) in Zarqa in 2023 amounted to 3,813,336 million barrels, amounting to 509,724,578 thousand tons.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources had stated in its previous statements that the Iraqi side had agreed to increase the quantities from 10,000 barrels per day to 15,000 barrels per day, from the beginning of August in 2023.

The necessary technical and logistical arrangements have been made to transfer these quantities from the modern Kirkuk depot to the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company in Zarqa, the ministry said, pointing out that the monthly quantity of Iraqi crude oil exported to Jordan will reach about 450 thousand barrels per month, instead of 300 thousand barrels per month.

The increase in oil quantities comes as a result of the fruitful discussions held during the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh, at the head of a ministerial delegation, to Baghdad, last July, and reaching a joint consensus to increase the quantities of Iraqi crude oil to Jordan.

The total exports and revenues achieved in January, according to preliminary statistics issued by the Iraq's SOMO oil company, amounted to 103 million and 508 thousand and 438 barrels, with revenues amounting to 8 Billions and 25 million and 616 thousand dollars, the Iraqi Ministry of Oil confirmed.
