Ammon News - The Jordanian national football team defeated its Malaysian counterpart 4-0 in the opening of its matches in the 2023 Asian Nations Cup held in Qatar.
The match started at 8:30 Amman time, as part of the first round of the fifth group at Al Janoub Stadium in Doha.
Player Mahmoud Mardi opened the scoring for the national team early in the 11th minute of the match, and the professional star of the French club Montpellier, Musa Al Taamari, scored for Malaysia for the second time from the penalty mark just 5 minutes later.
Mardi returned to score the third goal after a pass from the player Yazan Al Naimat in the 32nd minute, and Al Taamari concluded with a world-class goal in the 85th minute.
Thus, Al Nashama topped Group Five with three points and a goal difference over the South Korean team, which won on Monday morning over its Bahraini counterpart by three goals to one.
Next Saturday, Al Nashama will face the South Korean team at Al Thumama Stadium, before meeting in the final round of the group stage against the brotherly Bahrain team.
