The grant of the last part of the 5th tranche comes as part of Saudi Arabia’s support to Jordan’s budget, and is valued at $250 million over five years (2018-2022).

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Touqan, welcomed the Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif Bin Bandar Al Sudairi, and Abdulmohsen Almotawa, Director General of the General Administration for International Development Cooperation in the Saudi Ministry of Finance.

Touqan praised the depth of the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, the foundations of which were laid by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Touqan also expressed the Jordanian government’s thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the continuous development support it has provided to Jordan through years of strong and distinguished bilateral relations.

The Ambassador Al Sudairi confirmed that the grant of support comes as an extension and continuation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to stand alongside the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Jordanian economy is strong and capable of growth despite the challenges and regional repercussions that have affected the region, Ambassador Al Sudairi added.
