Ammon News - Thousands of Palestinians marked the New Year tonight with a massive rally that took place in the center of the city of Ramallah in solidary with the Gaza Strip and demanding an end to the Israeli war of genocide against the Gaza Strip in its 87th consecutive day that claimed the lives of tens of thousands of Palestinians, mainly children and women.

Participants in the rally raised pictures and names of the Palestinians murdered in the relentless Israeli bombardment from the air, land and sea, and chanted slogans denouncing the crimes of the Israeli occupation and its ongoing massacres against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and calling for national unity to confront the Israeli war crimes while calling on the international community to intervene urgently to stop the genocide and provide protection for the Palestinian people.

The Israeli occupation continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 87th day, which led to the death of 21,822 people and the injury of 56,451 others, most of them children and women, in addition to thousands of people still missing under the rubble of the destroyed buildings.

The rally, held at midnight to mark the start of the New Year, was called for by the national forces and the student movement at Birzeit University.
