Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, received Tuesday evening a phone call from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during which the two ministers followed up on the talks they had recently held in Washington as part of the visit made by Safadi and members of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee charged with international action to stop the war on Gaza.
Safadi stressed the need to stop the aggression against Gaza, and the need to take steps to ensure the adequate, sustainable and immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip.
Safadi also warned of the seriousness of the situation in the West Bank.
Blinken affirmed the United States’ commitment to providing adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid and facilitating its entry into Gaza, and the United States’ commitment to achieving lasting peace through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the basis of the two-state solution.
The call addressed efforts to prevent the expansion of the war, ensure the protection of civilians, and stop settler violence in the West Bank.
