Ammon News - The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Sufyan Qudah, confirmed that the Ministry, through the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs, continues to follow up on the conditions of Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza, and to ensure their evacuation to the Kingdom as quickly as possible.
The Jordanian Embassy team in Cairo, currently present on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, is working to evacuate 110 Jordanian citizens residing in Gaza and registered on the Ministry’s lists and who were allowed by the crossing authorities to leave on Wednesday through the Rafah crossing to Egypt, Qudah said.
A team from the embassy will receive them, provide assistance, provide the required medical care, and work to secure their return to the Kingdom as quickly as possible, he added.
Qudah also explained that the number of Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza, registered on the database since the beginning of the raging war on Gaza, has reached 913 people to date, 458 of whom have been evacuated.
Qudah reiterated his emphasis on the Kingdom’s continued evacuation of its citizens from the Gaza Strip.
