Ammon News - Seven staff members of the Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza were injured as a result of Israeli bombing in the vicinity of the hospital, on Wednesday.

The Jordanian Armed Forces said in a statement: “Seven staff members from the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza were injured at the entrance to the hospital’s emergency department, while trying to treat Palestinian citizens who were injured during an Israeli bombing and were transferred there.”

"The injuries are between minor to stable," the statement explained, noting that "their colleagues are providing the necessary care for them and a number of Palestinian brothers."

15 years of free services
The Jordanian Field Hospital in Gaza was established in 2009 under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II after the first war on the Strip, and the hospital is affiliated with the Jordanian Army, and receives about 1000 to 1200 people daily, and provides free services.

The medical staff supervising the hospital is replaced every 3-4 months, in addition to supplies of medical supplies, and its clinical capacity reaches 40 beds.

The hospital is located in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, west of Gaza City and receives patients with various diseases and performs many delicate surgical operations.

Since the beginning of the war, the hospital has been receiving a larger number of patients and dealt with 817 cases during the last week from November 5 to 11, which varied between visits and direct and indirect war injuries, according to the Commander of the hospital, Colonel Thaer Al Khatib.

The hospital was out of service due to the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, and His Majesty the King decided to support it and keep it operating in the same location, despite it being out of service and suffering damage as a result of the Israeli bombing.

At the beginning of this week, a Jordanian Air Force plane dropped urgent medical aid using parachutes to the field hospital in the Gaza Strip, for the second time in a week and the landing operation came in cooperation with the UAE and Qatar, to enhance and increase the ability of medical personnel to provide health and treatment services.
