Ammon News - Israeli occupation forces stormed part of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of Gaza City at dawn on Wednesday, after besieging it for the 6th day in a row, according to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).
The director-general of the Gaza health ministry, Dr. Munir al-Bursh, confirmed that the occupation forces stormed the surgical and emergency buildings in the Al-Shifa Complex, and there are soldiers who entered the emergency department in the Al-Shifa Complex, and searched hospital’s basement.
He pointed out that no bullet was fired from inside the hospital during the occupation forces storming the complex, but the occupation forces opened fire on people who came out of the corridor that was claimed to be safe for exiting the Shifa Complex.
"The occupation army believed that its soldiers entering the Shifa Medical Complex would be a victory for it, but it did not find any evidence of resistance, and as we informed the Red Cross delegate that the occupation army stormed the Shifa Medical Complex," he said.
Eyewitnesses from inside the complex reported that occupation tanks stormed the courtyard of the Shifa Medical Complex from the western side, amid heavy gunfire, and snipers were deployed around the complex.
It is noteworthy that Al-Shifa Medical Complex includes about 650 patients, including 100 intensive care patients and premature infants, in addition to about 500 medical personnel, in addition to 4 to 5 thousand displaced children, women and the elderly, in difficult conditions as a result of the power outage due to the depletion of fuel.
