Ammon News - Upon invitation of the Austrian Embassy Amman, the Austrian vocal artist Amina Bouroyen and the Jordanian band Osama Mashagbeh Trio held two musical perfomances last week. After the first concert at the opening of Musiqa 3Al Daraj Festival on Sunday, 1 October in Petra- Wadi Musa, the musicians also performed on the closing evening of the 11th edition of the Amman Jazz Festival.

The performance of Amina Bouroyen, an Austrian jazz musician with Moroccan roots, together with the Jordanian band Osama Mashagbeh Trio at the Amman Jazz Festival was a remarkable example of a successful Austrian-Jordanian cooperation in the music scene. Amina Bouroyen shone with her unique vocals and interpretation of jazz standards, while the Osama Mashagbeh Trio mesmerized the audience with their impressive level of musicianship and creative approach.

The fascinating fusion of sounds and styles, highlighting the diversity and cultural exchange in jazz music, emphasized the importance of collaboration between different countries and cultures to foster a rich and dynamic music scene: creating beauty out of diversity.

As part of the Austrian participation this year, Amina Bouroyen offered a unique workshop for a group of vocalists from Jordan on the techniques for achieving artistic freedom in both modern and traditional song catalogues of jazz singing.

This intercultural musical residency project is a highlight of the Austrian Embassy´s cultural program of this year and a significant contribution to Austro-Jordanian cultural cooperation.

The performing musicians were:
● Amina Bouroyen, vocals,
● Osama Mashagbeh, guitar,
● Omar Farooq, piano,
● Maxim Adham, double bass.
