CBJ issues sukuks for NEPCO worth JD120 million

Ammon News - The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) has announced the issuance of sukuk for the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), within the fourth tranche of the sixth issue, with a value of JD120 million, according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

The CBJ, in its capacity as the issuance manager for the NEPCO’s sukuks, offered the tranche within the company’s program to issue sukuk for the year 2023, in the form of “murabaha (Islamic finance instrument) contract for the purchase order” contract at auction on Monday for a period of three years maturing on September 26, 2026.

The murabaha rate from the tranche is 6% annually, the CBJ said, indicating that the settlement date for the auction will be Tuesday, September 26th.
