Anti-Vagrancy Department arrested 648 beggars in August

Ammon News - The Anti-Vagrancy Department arrested 648 beggars both male and female during 300 campaigns, according to the Ministry of Social Development’s monthly report released on Tuesday.

According to the data shown in this monthly report, which monitors the ministry’s most prominent works and services, the ministry provided cash and in-kind assistance to 9,933 families.

The departments of the directorates affiliated with the ministry conducted 808 visits and received 8,145 transactions related to the preparation of social studies for the purposes of granting health insurance to poor families, according to the report.

It also showed that the ministry received 184 transactions for the purposes of exempting treatment expenses, while 61 transactions were conducted for the purposes of serving the settlement of heirs’ rights.

The ministry also licensed 4 nurseries, while warning penalties were issued to two nurseries with the aim of improving their conditions and improving day services for children, the report stated.

The ministry enrolled 5 elderly people in elderly care homes, and 35 children in residential child care homes, while it received 18 applications to enroll elderly people in elderly care homes, and 196 juveniles in juvenile education and rehabilitation homes.

It conducted 556 studies of juveniles through social service offices, and 3 studies to enroll people with disabilities.

121 requests to to buy houses were also received by the ministry, and 73 requests for housing maintenance for poor families.
