Jordan records $5.14 billion tourism income in 8 months

Ammon News - Tourism income increased during the first eight months of 2023 in Jordan to more than $5.149 billion.

The increase compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 41.3%, according to data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

The data indicated also that tourism income in August achieved an increase of 10.8%, compared to the same month last year, to reach JD646.2 million ($911.4 million).

During the first eight months of 2023, the data showed that tourism income achieved an increase of 41.3%, recording a value of JD3,651.0 million ($5,149.5 million), driven by an increase in the number of tourists, which reached 4,503.5 thousand tourists, with a growth rate of 41.9%.

At the same time, data indicate an increase in tourism spending abroad during the month of August 2023 by (16.1%), compared to the same month in 2022, to reach 142.2 million dinars ($200.6 million).

Tourism spending abroad increased by 34.1% during the first eight months and reached a value of JD955.1 million ($1,347.1 million).
