Ammon News - 20 employees of the Jordan Industrial Ports Company (JIPC) in Aqaba suffered from shortness of breath after gas emissions in the ports area on the southern shore during their work in the southern industrial zone and the ports, according to an official source in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).

The cases were taken to Prince Hashem Military Hospital in Aqaba, and following a thorough medical assessment, they were released once their health had stabilized, the source added.

The ASEZA followed up on the readings of the ambient air quality control station located in the southern ports, which showed that all gas readings were within the Jordanian standard and the permissible limits, with the exception of dust heights that exceeded 200 micrograms/cubic meter, contrary to the normal rates prevailing in the region, in addition to the sovereignty of completely calm weather conditions led to the accumulation of dust in the atmosphere surrounding the area, the source stated.
